Chattanooga, TN (8/18/2014) ---  This Saturday night local radio and television personalities will be racing for ultimate bragging rights as Boyd's Speedway presents race #1 of the Chattanooga Media Gran Prix. On-Air talent from Clear Channel's WUSY US101, WRXR Rock 105 and other media outlets will all be taking part in a special race with full scale professional Dirt Crate Late Model race cars.

Former Late Model National Champion Dale McDowell will be teaching the disc jockey's and show hosts all the necessary details of piloting an, over 2,000 lb. dirt racecar this week during a special driving school segment for the media members and their crew. "This will be the first of many media races we have planned for this season" states owner David Duplissey who came up with the idea to involve non-racing professionals, and give them a first-hand glimpse of what goes on at Boyd's Speedway, other than just folks watching racing for the comfort of their own seats.

Six identically preparred racecars will be on the track Saturday, along with a Full Regular Racing Program of Late Models, Crate LM's, A&B-Hobby and Mini's. One media winner will advance to the finals to challenge others for the Chattanooga Media Gran Prix Title. Other members of various media organizations will have the opportunity to represent their stations and groups later this year during rounds 2-4. Racing gets underway Saturday at Boyd's at 7PM.
